Update 1: I've finally selected one song I wanna use for my video, but I'm still looking for clips or images to include. I tested out a program called DaVanci Resolve, recommended to me by Mr. Barker, but it turns out my computer couldn't handle it, so I transferred back to OpenShot.
Hopefully tomorrow, I'll at least have a few clips/images of January 2020 so I can start on my first minute. I'll hopefully post update 2 tomorrow. Update 2: I've finally got all the clips and images I want to include for the January portion of my video. I've decided to include three of the events that took place in January: Trump's impeachment, the tension between the USA and Iran, and Kobe Bryant's death. I've also downloaded another song I may use in my video as well. I will most likely work on the half of the first minute tomorrow before looking for clips and images of February's events.

Good morning and welcome to my blog!
For my Genius Hour project, I've decided to compile a collection of clips and images relating to major events taking place in 2020, the main event being the coronavirus. What other events will I do? That's a good question. That's why I wrote down a list of major 2020 events to get a general idea of what I want to include in my video: the global pandemic, President Trump's impeachment, George Floyd's death and the protests following shortly afterward, etc. I've yet to decide which piece of music I want to put in the background, though. That’s definitely something I should think about as well. I’m most likely going to have to download a couple of music to fill in the six minutes. As for how I'm going to make this video; since I don't have any online money, I've gone ahead and downloaded a free software called OpenShot Video which has pretty basic and manageable interfaces. I'm most likely going to search YouTube for the clips I need for my videos (I'll include credits and sources in the end, of course). Downloading them in the high definition may be a bit difficult considering a lot of YouTube downloaders don’t download in the 1080 quality, but that’s only a minor hiccup and may not be that big of a problem. By the end of the twelve weeks, I hope to get all six minutes of my video done--one minute including two months each, except for the last minute, which will be dedicated exclusively to November. And by the end of the twelve weeks, I hope everyone will enjoy my video as well. I’ll do my best to update my blog on my progress every week until then. See you next week, Lance Dix |
